Privacy Policy for Ambos
Last updated 14 August 2026
Ambos does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
What the app stores
Everything Ambos keeps is stored only on your device, and is removed when you uninstall the app:
- The chapter you were last reading, and which two editions you had open.
- Your settings: theme, spacing, where the app opens, and whether the screen stays on while reading.
- The texts themselves, expanded from the copies included with the app the first time you open each one.
- Any edition you add yourself from a file.
None of this leaves your device, and none of it is readable by us.
Network use
The app can download an edition you ask for. When it does, it requests that file from where the edition is published and nothing else; no information about you or about what you read is sent with the request, and the app has no server of its own to send it to. Ambos makes no other network requests.
Files you add yourself
If you add an edition from a file on your device, that file is read and stored locally. It is never uploaded, shared, or transmitted anywhere.
Children
Ambos is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Permissions
On Android the app declares internet access, used only to download an edition you have asked for. It requests no other permissions — no location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage beyond the file you choose to import.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a change in practice.
